Structure: Receptor are located mainly on the surface of endocrine gland cells where they recognize hormonal stimuli in the blood, and bind them tightly to the cell membrane.
Function: The function of the receptors is the identification of the hormone and it's binding on the cell surface for absorbing them in creating the next phase of hormone action, activating the second messenger system.
