Structure:
The radioulna, the long bone of the forearm of frogs, articulates with
the humerus at the hinge joint, the elbow.
It interacts with the round, carpal
bones of the front foot.
Function:
As part of the upper extremity, the radioulna
provides the structure that allows the frog to maintain its' posture
with the head in an elevated position. A major role is providing the cushioning
of the anterior part of the animal as it lands from a leap.
