Structure: Signals directly from the nervous system to endocrine glands occurs in two places; the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland, the adrenal medulla.
Function: In response to signals directly from the hypothalamus, the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland secretes vasopressin or oxytocin. The adrenal medulla is stimulated through the sympathetic nervous system to secrete epinephrine and norepinephrine.
