Name: Planet Earth 
 
Definition: Planet Earth is the only celestial body with known living organisms.
Structure: The earth is the only known planet with the proper mixture of geological and atmospheric environments, or ecosystems, to support life. ItÕs distance from the sun allows an environment with gravity that is compatible with life, and temperature and water compatible for sustaining the many populations of organisms that live on the planet earth. As one of their activities, scientists, begining with Aristotle, have organized their findings to reach a common language, or vocabulary. They decided that the best major divisions of science were of physical sciences, earth sciences, aeronautical and space sciences, and biological sciences


Function:  Planet Earth provides a home for biological organisms through its' geological, and atmospheric environments.
